Geraldine Burger Obituary
Audrey Geraldine Burger nee Bosley graduated from her earthly journey into the promise of eternal life with Our Lord Jesus Christ at 1220 am on the 3rd of January 2024.
"Gerry" as she was fondly known by all her loved ones including family, neighbors, and likely everyone whom she encountered, will undoubtedly be remembered for her routine smile, personal inclusion of individuals, and her perpetual thoughtfulness/kindness.
She enjoyed talks (telephone not included), long walks, and routine visits with her children, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends.
Born May 22, 1931 on a farm in the area of Lewisdale, Md., Her parents were Myrtle Virgina (Day) and Lee Roy Bosley. Gerry was the last surviving member of her siblings. Sisters were Bernice Woodfield Johnston, Dorothy Mocarsky, Cora Day Hitchcock, Arlene M. Main, Rosalie Gue, Shirley Butt and brother Frankie Bosley.
With her marriage to Eugene S. "Gene" Burger on the 25th of September 1965 at the Damascus Methodist Church, two families joined. She energetically and continually contributed to sustaining and nurturing this connection. As a result of her tenacity in this arena, we are blessed to report that six cherished children and their spouses; Jerry Wayne King (Denise), Warren Eugene Burger, Kenneth Eugene King (Ellen), Terry Burger Troupe (Jeff), Cheryl Ann King, & Christie Burger Masser (Dave) will carry on holding her close in their collective hearts and fond memories.
Gerry welcomed twelve grandchildren into her expansive embrace: Emily Cave (Chad), Filecha Kolb, Jacob King (Amanda), Trisha Andrews Dalton, Jana Roberts (Jonathan), Carrie Weady (Tyler), Jared W. King (Wendy), Kelly King, Janelle King Ausherman (Donnie), James "Jay" Joyce, Kristin King Carriker (Scottie), Nina Gordon (fiance AJ),
Further, Gerry reveled in the knowledge that she cherished twenty-two great grandchildren within her family. Among these are Anthony Ausherman, Charlotte Ausherman, Case James Carriker, Addison Cave, Beckett Cave, Hudson Cave, Riley Cave, Andrew Dalton, Ciera Dalton, Allison King, Dexter King, Harrison King, Holland King, Julia King, Katherine King, Spencer King, Erykah Kolb, Paige Kolb, Pace Roberts, Paxton Roberts, Hatcher Weady, & Opal Weady.
Gerry's family welcomes her friends for visitation from 4 to 7 pm., on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 am. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Brook Hill Methodist Church, 8946 Indian Springs Road, Frederick with an informal fellowship gathering after conclusion. Internment at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum, 515 S. Market St., Frederick will follow the celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjudes.org and/or the Brook Hill UMC designated Youth Programs.
